dr Irena O¿óg
Dr Irena O¿óg, is a licensed tax advisor (reg. no. 02777). A graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics, where she obtained a Ph.D. in public finance in 1991, Irena has taken part in a number of overseas secondments and training programs in the area of tax law.
She started her professional career in 1976 at the Institute of Science and Higher Education in Warsaw. In 1983 - 1998 she worked in the Finance Ministry, becoming Deputy Director in 1990, Director of the Direct Tax Department in 1992 and then Deputy Finance Minister responsible for taxes (2001-2003). Irena was also a member of the National Commission on Tax Advice Matters.
Upon leaving the Finance Ministry, she and her partners opened the tax and law firm Spó³ka Doradztwa Podatkowego O¿óg i Wspólnicy, where she acts as Managing Partner and tax advisor. She is also a partner in all other O¿óg group businesses.
Dr Irena O¿óg has authored numerous expert reports on tax law for the parliamentary Public Finance Committee. She is an expert adviser at the Polish Business Council, and cooperates with the Polish Confederation of Private Employers (called Lewiatan) and the Confederation of Polish Employers.
She has penned nine books (excluding reprints) and approximately one hundred and fifty articles on financial law, including tax law. Since 1991, she has been a lecturer at the Warsaw School of Economics, where she also gives classes in tax and finance law.
