Special Economic Zones

There are 14 Special Economic Zones in Poland.

A substantial part of income from business activities conducted in special economic zones is exempt from income tax.
The exact scope of tax exemptions is provided in the Council of Ministers’ Ordinances on establishment of each particular zone and in state aid regulations. State aid in the form of tax exemptions constitutes what is termed “regional support” and is granted on account of:

  • costs of the new investment,
  • creation of new jobs.

Experts from our SEZs Team offer full range support for investing and doing business in special economic zones, from simulations of possible tax exemptions taking into account the investment costs and state aid discounts, conducting negotiations with entities managing the given zone in order obtain a permit to run a business in the zone, to on-going advice in solving all legal and tax problems relating to doing business in a special economic zone.
